Notes The Glover tower is used in the manufacture of sulphuric acid. It consists of a series of chambers in which nitrous vitriol is denitrated and the resulting acid from the chambers is concentrated by being passed down through layers of flint, brick, or other materials, against an upward flow of hot sulphur dioxide and air.
